Microsoft has unveiled the brand-new Microsoft Surface Headphones, the company’s first headphones ever released and coming with features like Cortana integration.

Available in a light gray color, the Surface Headphones feature the same high-quality built as all the other Surface models, weighing in only 290 grams.

The wireless headphones are built not only for those who want to listen to music without making any compromises in terms of audio quality, but also for office workers, as they integrate not one, not two, but eight different microphones which can be used during video calls or with Cortana.

The digital assistant can perform a variety of features, like providing information on your calendar events, all with a voice command when using the headphones.

Furthermore, the device boasts no less than 13 levels of ambient noise control, and thanks to a rotating dial on the ear cups, users are allowed to configure the noise canceling feature.

Launching later this year

Microsoft Surface Headphones can automatically pause music when they are removed, and Microsoft says that its battery should last for up to 15 hours. It recharges in less than 2 hours, the company adds.

The headphones can work with any Bluetooth-capable device, including here laptops and phones, and despite using wireless connections for pairing, a 3.5mm audio connector is also offered for wired music listening. A USB-C port is available as well.

While the new Surface models announced earlier this week already have a release date, this isn’t the case of the Surface Headphones. Microsoft says they will be available later this year in time for the holiday season.

However, don’t imagine that the technology detailed above comes cheap. Nope. Microsoft will sell the Surface Headphones for $349 in the United States. The United Kingdom will also receive them later this year, with further info on more markets to be provided closer to the launch date.
